Inspiration

Gzhel pottery was the original inspiration for Poline. The combination of blue and white is always visually pleasing; fluffy clouds on a bright summer day always bring a smile. However, my decision to include both mouline and woolen threads allowed me to add texture and depth to the varied blue patterns. White ceramic beads allowed me to create a bit of understated sparkle.

The bags in my collection are made with the highest quality materials, sourced from all over the world. My goal is to create an “antique” look that will stand the test of time. I use gold and silver threads from Japan for shine and elegance. The beads worked into my designs are also from Japan (Toho or Miyuki beads) or from the Czech Republic (Preciosa beads). The sequins in my work are sourced from France and Italy, and the crystals from Swarovski. I use natural pearls or order them from Swarovski as well. Each of my handbags is designed to be a piece of wearable art. To keep them looking their best, treat them either as antiques or as pieces of jewelry. Avoid overloading them and they will retain their beauty for years to come.

I use high quality materials in my works. This means a longer life for the handbag, a beautiful shine and and flawless look. If I need to achieve an "antique" look, high quality materials are must. I use mostly Japanese toho or miyuki beads, less often I use Czech preciosa beads.  My gold and silver threads also come from Japan. Products with silver/golden threads are especially fragile and require special care. Crystals and pearls (if not natural) I order from Swarovski. Sequins I work with come from France and Italy.
My handmade handbags are not for common everyday use (rather special events/occasions) and not for carrying extra heavy things in them. Think of them as an antique if you want them to live and serve you long. :)

Poline

Poline is a classically understated bag with a lovely bell shape and a simple color scheme. However, this bag is in no way drab or boring. There is history stitched into the embroidery of this piece. The combination of shades of cobalt blue embroidery thread, woolen threads, and white porcelain beadwork created a bag that is timeless. The Russian pottery of Gzhel comes to us from around 1802. This handmade bag, though modern, has a similar sense of history and will be a remarkable keepsake that you can enjoy for years to come.
